Recorded by the phone in your pocket with the screen off, and kept whether or not you were in coverage — an underpass or a bad patch is sent the moment signal returns rather than lost.
Tell it when you expect to be back. If you have not ended the run, the people you nominated are told — and that works even if your battery is flat, because it is a clock, not a signal.
Send one link. Whoever you send it to sees where you are on a map, in their browser, with no app and no account.
Hold the button for three seconds and everyone holding your link sees a red pin where you raised it, while your contacts are emailed the same position and a map link.
The app is free, permanently, and everything in it works without paying — recording your run, raising an alarm, your full run history, GPX export, and being watched for going quiet or being overdue.
That last one matters most and is worth spelling out: if you do not come back when you said you would, the people you nominated are emailed your last known position and a map link. Free. A safety app that charges for that is not one worth having.
R240 a year buys one thing: a live tracking link, so somebody at home can watch your run as it happens instead of waiting to hear. Every new account gets 14 days of it from your first run.
RunTracker does not contact emergency services. It tells the people you nominated. If someone is in danger, call them, and call your local emergency number yourself.
